Hope you enjoy your kaffir lime leaves - the dried ones work every bit as well as fresh. I have put some of these ones in the freezer to see how they work.

Velva - thanks for visiting. It really was fast and delicious, and I managed to freeze quite a bit for another night as well.

Kim - Yes all the different aubergines are fantastic - and don't they look beautiful. If you are new to curries this would be a great one to try - not too strong and overpowering.

Zibi - It is interesting seeing different foods in season at the opposite end of the world - most of the blogs I follow are in the Northern hemisphere, so I usually feel a bit out of step. In a few more weeks, when there is nothing available here except root vegetables, I will be looking at all your blogs with real envy! :-)

Andreas - It seems there is an incredible variety of aubergine available. This was the first time I had ever come across the little green and yellow ones - the great thing about shopping at farmers markets I guess - I had only ever seen the big purple ones at the supermarket. I believe you can even get tiny little pea sized ones as well, but I have never yet seen them.

Jenny - I had found the kaffir lime leaves before, but this was the first time I have ever come across the actual fruit. I have used dried kaffir lime peel before though, which you should find quite readily at an Asian supermarket, and which makes a reasonable substitute.

SueCouscous & Consciousnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06616224893242380904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7919774181554016884.post-25661085633595320982010-04-26T04:24:05.789+12:002010-04-26T04:24:05.789+12:00Nice timing on the app!
